apologies for the delay

it has been quite awhile since i have posted anything

i am making a few updates to this infrastructure
and will finally be returning with regular posts soon enough

- please sit tight -

splash n' dash

this was originally created for a triathlon that was sponsored by the YMCA back in 2010.

a small gallery for sharing

it has been awhile...
but i have not had much to say
and even less to show.

but i have several things in the works
this being one of them:

{ my mini gallery }

it is hard to say what i will be using it for at the moment,
but i like it all the same.

i originally posted a few concept examples of this back in 2010:
example1
example2
example3
it has changed just a little since then.

( side note: make sure to roll over the 23rd on the calendar )

the british miler

I was recently asked to try and come up with some quick concepts for a logo design (that would be potentially used for a documentary about British Olympic hopefuls in the 1500m/Mile).

here is the final design I came up with:

below are a few of the initial concepts that led to this design:

Wine Under Wings invitation cover (third pass)

the great debate is based upon keeping that middle text legible.
I fear that neither of these are the answer
so there will be a second pass for this as well.

Wine Under Wings program cover (second pass)

{ wine bottle edition }

wine under wings program cover (first pass)

This is the first concept for the program cover for the Wine Under Wings event in Memphis this year.
This is the curvy edition that the above was born from...
I will be posting more concepts for the program cover and invitations (2 separate deals) as I continue to churn them out over the next couple of days.

wine for aviation

i was recently asked to design a logo/invitation, and while I doubt this will be used due to it lack of guitars and wineglasses (something i am still looking into on its level of required-ness). all the same, i am pleased with what i came up with.

i was provided with some graphics of planes as well so of course i included them as well.

I will be sure to post the final, so that you can make fun of me.

cat crap

my computer is dead.

and yet my powerbook is still chugging right along after 8 years.

SuperWhat? (pt5)

I reset again.

i am finally happy with how this attempt turned out, which is good because i will be hanging it at the Greenwich Gallery in Cincinnati tomorrow. From the start I wanted to make something I would want to hang up and I think I achieved that finally.
I will post a photo of the completed piece once it is hung.

SuperWhat (pt4)

hilarity ensues

I would say this is my elementary interpretation of what was in my head... and overall a complete failure (on a lot of different levels). the below image shortly followed.

(i titled this: skidmarks in the sky... but it is so nice outside)
I felt much better about the whole project at this point.

I actually picked up a pen and paper at this point to really think out my next attempt...
but it was late, and i stopped caring a bit too much.

I am planning on getting reworking the background again tonight into another point to start fresh from.

Here is a rough sketch of what I have in mind:

It has evolved once again.
I am thinking with fire.

SuperWhat? (pt3)

There was a lot of reworking between picture 2 and 3. I basically scrapped the entire face besides the mouth at the end of the night. I am going for more Green Hornet and less Robin - Boy Wonder at this point with the face maskery.

... I am also planning on lightening the skin up (a bunch), the purplish tinge makes him look like some sort of cartoon vampire. which is not what i am going for at all.

I am currently debating hair color.
