Sainome Colosseum R

Here is a link to the Kickstarter for the Japanese card game I helped localize to english with LionWing Publishing:

It is a pretty cool and very accessible anime-styled tabletop combat game for 2-4 players.

So check it out if that is something you are into!
( we have already hit our goal, so now is a great time to jump on board )

happy new year

here is a sneak peak at some of the cool art from our current localization project.
stay tuned for more on this super fun game.

( check us out )

music in the woods

I created this poster and postcard for the Imago Earth Center; which is a great little nonprofit focused on nature conservation, education, and community here in Cincinnati.

Music in the Woods is Imago's largest event. It is a grand celebration of summer with all things local. The family-friendly event features fun activities, a silent auction, local food and beverages, and wonderful music, all taking place on Imago's beautiful and centrally-located nature preserve.

I have been working with them for the last couple of years and can easily say that they are the greatest people to work with.

So if you like hanging out in the woods and listening to bluegrass, then you should consider checking out this event:
(excuse our website, its update is still in the early stages and a work in progress)

Wine Under Wings invitation cover (third pass)

the great debate is based upon keeping that middle text legible.
I fear that neither of these are the answer
so there will be a second pass for this as well.

Wine Under Wings program cover (second pass)

{ wine bottle edition }

wine under wings program cover (first pass)

This is the first concept for the program cover for the Wine Under Wings event in Memphis this year.
This is the curvy edition that the above was born from...
I will be posting more concepts for the program cover and invitations (2 separate deals) as I continue to churn them out over the next couple of days.

wine for aviation

i was recently asked to design a logo/invitation, and while I doubt this will be used due to it lack of guitars and wineglasses (something i am still looking into on its level of required-ness). all the same, i am pleased with what i came up with.

i was provided with some graphics of planes as well so of course i included them as well.

I will be sure to post the final, so that you can make fun of me.

two pass on the shortest day of the year

I was asked to make the programs for my Grandmothers funeral.
I decided that I wanted to include an illustrated element to the program
and this is where that landed me:

My mother thought it looked a little sharp or harsh for the occasion though, so I took the butt-munch to the barber and came back with this:

(which she liked much better)

This is what the final element ended up looking like:

and then it was just a matter of adding the wanted text in to get the final cover:

I think overall  this is the better program covers that I have made to date
(especially on a limited timeframe).

I think it is interesting how my work has been evolving for the better lately.
With any luck this will continue.

I miss my grandparents.
